Compare / Wash-Dry-Fold POS vs. Turns
Turns launched in 2022, is developed by a team in India and has been PayRange’s software arm since February 2025, with machine payments, hardware and POS bundled into one plan. Wash-Dry-Fold POS is built, supported and used every day in laundromats in the USA.
Two things separate these systems before you reach a feature list: who wrote the software, and how much of your store one company ends up holding. Turns is developed in India as the software arm of a payments company. Wash-Dry-Fold POS is written in the USA by people who own laundromats here, and every release runs at Liberty Laundry before it reaches you. After that, the decision is about how much you want bundled. If you run PayRange on your machines, or want to, and you would rather have the hardware included than quoted, Turns is built for exactly that. If you want to keep the card system already on your machines, buy your POS on its own and stay month to month, that is us. This page lays out where each one is genuinely strong. Everything stated about Turns comes from their own public pages and PayRange’s own announcements, and the date we checked them is at the bottom.
At a glance
Wash-Dry-Fold POS
Who each one is for
A bundle is attractive right up to the point where you want to change one part of it. The question worth answering before you sign anything is which parts of your store you want one company to control, and how long you are willing to be committed to that answer.
Wash-Dry-Fold POS
Built for owners whose wash-dry-fold counter is the business, and who train new attendants more often than they would like.
Setup, training and support all come from people who have worked a laundromat counter. The laundromat website is the only thing sold separately.
Turns
Built for operators who want machine payments, POS hardware and software from one company, bundled into a plan.
Three published tiers with hardware included on a two-year plan agreement, plus usage-based AI credits and a per-location AI answering add-on.
Differences that matter
Both feature lists read well. What stays different is what you sign, what happens to the card system already on your machines, and how quickly a new attendant can work the counter.
01
Turns includes the hardware in the plan, and its own pricing page ties that to a two-year plan agreement. Wash-Dry-Fold POS has no long-term contract: hardware is quoted per store and the software is month to month, so if we stop earning it you can leave. Neither model is wrong. Turns bundles the hardware into a two-year plan; ours is month to month with hardware bought separately. Know which one you are signing.
Where Turns is stronger: bundling hardware into the plan means a much smaller cheque on day one, which is real if capital is tight.
02
This is the one we would put first. A high-volume store does not train one person, it trains a dozen over a year, and frequent retraining gets expensive fast. Setup includes a two-hour live session with Chelsea Blake, who has trained 1,000+ laundromat owners and 100+ attendants, and managed a chain of eight laundromats for six years before that. She configures your pricing, your bag flow and your attendant routine, then trains your staff on it. The screens are built for that: one job per screen, in the order the work happens.
Where Turns is stronger: they publish 24/7 phone, SMS and web-chat coverage in writing, which is a clearer commitment than we make.
03
Turns is developed in India as part of the PayRange ecosystem, and its published payment path runs through PayRange hardware. Ours was written by a working owner for his own counter in the USA, and it is used in laundromats here every day. Wash-Dry-Fold POS works alongside whatever is already on your machines: Laundroworks, LaundryCard, FasCard, SpyderWash and Speed Queen, with starts sold from the register and tied to an order. If you have just re-carded a store, that difference is the whole decision.
Where Turns is stronger: PayRange mobile payments are on a lot of American machines, and having them and the POS from one company is a genuine advantage if that is your payment path.
Side by side
Nine rows, no scoring. Where Turns is stronger, the row says so. Read the left column with the same skepticism you read the right, and ask both companies the same questions on your calls.

| Ease of training a new attendant | Built to get a new attendant productive fast, which is why volume stores end up here. Each screen does one job, in the order the work happens, so training is showing someone the counter rather than teaching software. | Who is behind it, and track record | Laundromat owners and former store managers. 1,300+ systems sold since 2016, all 50 states. The founder owns three of the top-grossing laundromats in the USA and still runs them, so the product argument and the operating argument are the same argument. | Founded 2022, PayRange-owned since February 2025, with its product team based in India.A shorter run in US laundromats than the systems it competes with. Ask for three references in your state, running your volume, and call them. |
| Card systems on your machines | Card-system agnostic. We do not sell a payment system.Laundroworks, LaundryCard, FasCard, SpyderWash and Speed Queen — the readers already on your machines stay, and a start can be rung up on an order. | Not agnostic: Turns is owned by PayRange. The parent company makes machine payment hardware, and their published payment path runs through it: in-store card, mobile wallet and the PayRange prepaid card. Ask directly what happens to the readers already on your machines. |
| Pickup & delivery | Route-based delivery and on-demand couriers, both included from day one.Routes, recurring stops, order status and a driver view all work from a phone, and a customer can choose Uber or DoorDash at checkout. There is no tier to reach first and no module to add. | DoorDash on the entry plan, your own drivers on the top plan.Their pricing page puts the driver app, route optimization and the branded customer app on the highest tier. Both systems can hand an order to a courier, so the question is which tier you land on. Price the one you will actually need. |
Bring this table to both demos. Any row a salesperson cannot answer plainly is the row worth pushing on.
The people behind it
Everyone you deal with here has worked in a laundromat. That is the entire difference, and it shows up on your first busy Saturday.
Wash-Dry-Fold POS was built by Brian Henderson, who owns Liberty Laundry: three stores that took over $2.5M in 2025, with one of them clearing $1M on its own in 2026. He wrote it because nothing on the market handled a high-volume wash-dry-fold counter properly. 1,300+ systems later, that is still the only thing we build for.
Your setup is run by Chelsea Blake, who has trained 1,000+ laundromat owners and 100+ attendants, and managed a chain of eight stores for six years before that. She configures the system around your store, your pricing, your bag flow and your attendant routine, and trains your staff on it in one two-hour session. Not a menu tour. The way the store will actually run on Monday.
Proof
One of these owners tried two other systems before this one. The other bought his third copy of it for his third store. Read the rest on the reviews page.
