Know where every order is without walking the floor.

Laundromat order tracking gives every wash-dry-fold order a place on one board that anyone at the counter can read.

An order moves across the board from To Do, through Sort, Wash, Dry and Fold, to Done and Picked Up. The system holds that state, so the answer to “is my laundry done?” is on the screen in front of whoever picked up the phone, even if the attendant who took the order has gone home. It is cloud-based and it runs in any browser, on the counter PC, a tablet in the back or your phone on the couch.

Your customers get the same answer without calling. They look their order up on your laundromat website with the phone number they gave at drop-off, and the system texts them automatically when the order is done.

Without an order board

A ticket on a bag is not a system.

Plenty of wash-dry-fold counters run on handwriting: a slip stapled to a bag, a name on a whiteboard, a shelf everyone is supposed to check. It holds until the store gets busy, an attendant calls out, or a customer walks in an hour early.

Then the store spends its labor looking for laundry instead of processing it, and the owner hears about the miss from the customer.

What the floor looks like when tickets are the system:

  • 01Customers call and nobody can answer without walking the back room
  • 02Finished orders sit on the ready shelf because no one marked them done
  • 03Two attendants wash the same order, or neither does
  • 04A shift change loses everything the last shift knew
  • 05Owners can’t see what is in the building from off site

How it works

One board, seven columns, everyone reading the same thing.

Order tracking is not a separate screen an attendant has to remember to open. It is the board they already work from all day, and orders move across it by drag and drop.

Step 01

Take the order in

Weigh it, price it, and the order is created with the customer attached. It lands in To Do with its weight, piece count and due date on the card.

Step 02

Drag it as the work happens

Attendants move the card through Sort, Wash, Dry and Fold, and the machine numbers used go on the card as they go.

Step 03

Move it to Done

Done separates finished orders from work in progress, so the pickup shelf and the screen agree on what is ready. Moving it there prompts the attendant to send the ready text now or schedule it for later.

Step 04

Close it out at pickup

Picked Up completes the order and clears it from the active board, with the weight, the attendant and the timestamps kept on the record.

The Wash-Dry-Fold POS order tracker board with orders in the To Do, Sort, Wash, Dry, Fold and Done columns, each card showing the customer, weight and machine numbers.
The board a busy store works from. Each card carries the customer, the weight, the piece count and the machines the order is sitting in.
The Machine Starts Report listing orders with machine start dollars, order total and the ratio between them.
The Machine Starts Report. Because attendants record machine numbers on the card, every start lands next to the order and the pounds it was run for.

The customer side

Your customers watch the same board, from their phone.

Customer order tracking is the public half of the same system: a status page on your laundromat website that reads live from the POS, so what the customer sees and what your attendant sees are the same record.

There is no account to create, no password and no app to install. The customer types the phone number they gave at drop-off, confirms a six-digit code the system texts them and the status is on the screen. It takes the “is my laundry ready yet” call off your counter.

  • Look it upPhone number in, texted code confirmed, status on screen. Built for a phone, because that is what they are holding.
  • What they seeReceived, processing, finished or picked up, with the weight, the total, the store and the service type.
  • The ready text at the same stepMoving the order to Done prompts the attendant to send the ready text now or schedule it for later.
  • What you get backFewer status calls during the rush, and orders that come off the ready shelf sooner.

What changes

What the store gets out of it.

The value shows up in the questions it stops: the phone call that takes four minutes, the recount of the ready shelf, the order that gets washed twice.

At the counter

Answers in seconds

Anyone on shift can find an order by customer and say exactly where it is, without leaving the register or walking the back room.

On the floor

No duplicated work

The board is the single record of what has been washed and what has not, so two attendants can work the same queue without colliding.

Off site

Owners can look without calling

Wash-Dry-Fold POS is cloud-based, so you can see who is clocked in, watch orders move and pull reports from a computer, tablet or phone.

Production is timestamped as it happens, so the same board that keeps the counter straight also tells you pounds and pieces per attendant, and the ratio of pounds processed to machine starts used.

Reviews left by Wash-Dry-Fold POS customers on their own stores and their own volume.

This system has made ownership much easier! I can get reports for each attendant and much easier to get reports I need to make real time decisions! Keeps better track of inventory than paper and pencil.

My wife and I put this system in our laundromat about 3 months ago. We are still finding new ways to help improve our effectiveness with our customers. We are so pleased with the system and all the new updates that have helped greatly to better serve our customers!

“Free Time” who wants some? This system has made more time for me. No more hand written laundry tickets with poor illegible writing that get lost.

I can pull up billing from my home computer or at the laundry. I can see exactly what was sold or what needs to be ordered. I can pull time sheets from the computer. I don’t have to go to the laundries to collect time cards or add them up any more. I can change prices or add new item tabs all with a click of a button.

I can see who is on the clock at each location and see just how busy they are with the order tracker. I can see which employee is completing the most laundry orders. This system is really the jack of all trades.

WDF POS was created by a laundromat owner with multiple stores that also have a robust drop off business. With such a depth of understanding of the business, it is no wonder WDF POS fits our high volume needs perfectly.

The cloud-based system was easy for our employees to learn and our customers appreciate the smoothness and professionalism of transactions. Training and customer service are the best around. New features are continually being added, and they are very responsive to feedback. I highly recommend it!

Questions

What owners ask about order tracking.

  • What is laundromat order tracking?

Laundromat order tracking is a system that gives every wash-dry-fold order a recorded status as it moves through the store. In Wash-Dry-Fold POS it is a board with seven columns: To Do, Sort, Wash, Dry, Fold, Done and Picked Up. Attendants drag an order from one column to the next as the work happens, so everyone on the floor sees the same recorded status.

  • Do attendants have to learn a second screen?

No. The order tracker is the screen they already use to take orders and check people out, and orders move by dragging a card from one column to the next.

  • Can customers check their own order status?

Yes. On your laundromat website a customer enters the phone number they gave at drop-off, confirms a six-digit code the system texts them and sees the same order status your attendants see. There is no account to create, no password and no app to install.

  • Does the system text customers when their laundry is ready?

Yes. Moving an order to Done prompts the attendant to send the ready text now or schedule it for a later time, so the notification is part of finishing the order rather than a separate task.

  • Can I check on orders from home?

Yes. Wash-Dry-Fold POS is cloud-based and runs in any browser, so you can see who is clocked in, watch orders in progress and print reports from a computer, tablet or phone.

  • How does the order tracker help with theft?

Attendants record the machines an order runs in as they work it. Coin stores can track machine usage from the till and card stores can match their machine usage reports against the machine start report, which is what makes the pounds-to-machine-starts ratio meaningful.
